Legend
has it that when rampaging warriors of 13th century Mongolia finished
pillaging they would feast, cooking sword-sliced meats with vegetables,
oils and spices in their shields over open fires. Khublai Khan recreates
this with an all-you-can-eat extravaganza for £15.95, guaranteed
to satisfy even the most battle-hungry. It’s a hands-on creative
experience: heap your bowl from the wide selection of freshly prepared
vegetables, noodles, rice, meats, poultry and fish. Ladle on fresh
sauces and aromatic oils, and throw in herbs and spices from the
inviting assortment laid out in ceramic pots. The yield your bowl
to the chef, you deftly stir-fries the contents on a sizzling hot
plate before your eyes. Finally, feast. Trying numerous dishes is
encouraged, and recipe suggestions are provided. The daring, however,
can invent original creations: with kangaroo, ostrich, shark and
wild boar on offer, the emphasis is on adventure rather than the
strictly authentic. The whole experience is served up in warm, colourful
and friendly surroundings, and is especially fun for larger parties.
The set evening price includes a starter and dessert with the all-you-can-eat
main ,while the lunch (Friday and Sunday only) and early evening
(6-7pm) special is £8.95 for three courses. |
